A modified version of the Voronoi Fracture that will automatically fracture with out input, and allows you to prototype the fractures at a standardized scale.
This Voronoi Fracture has been modified in production environments to optimize the workflow associated with breaking geometry.
The Houdini version handles internal attributes by default, including the normal nodes like exploded view, rest and material options. It can also bricker and create uneven cuts.
This will automatically fracture with out inputs with four additional methods beyond impact spots; with glass(traditional voronoi), splinter, brick, circular, glass, and splinter that are all convex.
The Fractures includes:
• Impact spots is a clone of the original for compatibility.
• The glass pattern is a traditional voronoi pattern that you can offset with volume based noise.
• The splinter pattern will allow you to do numerous wood like shatters.
• The brick pattern can do alternating bricks, and auto-orient to any shape. For alternating bricks you need to pair with a LaidlawFX voronoi fracture.
• Circular allows you to cut circular and spiral based patterns.
• You can opalias with this version and retain the same
options but more functionality.
Additionally:
• A test shape internally to test and define fracture patterns and noise scale.
• UVs the internal surfaces.
• Apply Materials to the internal surfaces.
• Applys a default rest.
• The name is defined on the nodes name to limit piece name based overlaps.
• Tells you the number of pieces you are creating.
• Display the triangulated cutter shape with the display mode.
• Cull pieces too small to effectively simulate.
• It can create uneven cuts to make concave shapes.
• The UI has been modified to focus your eye on the options you need.
• You can track your part history when stacking multiple voronoi fractures.
• The Houdini based one should be 100% inter-operable with SideFX voronoifracture if you do an opalias.
I can add additional production options upon request, if there are a preferred studio/standard options i.e. edge displacement variables and internal material remaping, etc.
